Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his sheep. Devastated, he returned to the village only to receive a lesson on honesty and the consequences of false alarms.
The tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the significance of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of false alarms. Moreover, it emphasizes how trust once violated, is difficult to earn back. It's a story as relevant today as it was then.
